Peugeot Zeli Electric Salt Mill Review

(More customer reviews)If the salt mill had the same high output as the pepper mill it would have received 5 stars. Other than that, no complaints.

PEUGEOT: France, since 1810.Peugeot mills are renowned by chefs and gourmet cooks the word over for the consistent grind results they produce, their incredible resilience and proven reliability.Compromise is not a word that fits into the Peugeot vocabulary. For each spice, there is one - and only one - Peugeot grinding mechanism: peppercorns; coarse dry salt; chilies; herbs and spices; wet salts; and nutmeg.Add the coffee mechanism, which started it all, and there are seven unique Peugeot mechanisms. Each is designed to derive the most flavor and greatest aroma from its complementary spice.Aesthetically pleasing, Peugeot mills deliver the height of quality, durability, reliability and innovation; making these mills the ones to which all others are compared. At the touch of a button, you can grind at the table or in the kitchen with this battery-powered salt mill, (set to a medium grind). For added convenience, this mill is fitted with a light that comes on when the grinder is in use, allowing easy viewing of your grind amount. Includes salt, six AAA batteries, a spare light bulb and instructions for use. This mill is equipped with Peugeot's exceptional salt grinding mechanism: it is unlike anything else on the market. Its two ribbed plates are made from a stainless steel blend that offers resiliency, rigidity and resistance to corrosion from dry salts. When the mechanism is activated, the ribs work to twist and fracture each salt crystal to the desired size. Orka Electric Salt and Pepper Grinder Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)You can't go wrong with these electric grinders: They come out to $15 each, when buying 4, using Amazon's 4-for-3 Promo.

I purchased 2 for salt/pepper, and NEARLY SENT THEM BACK AS DEFECTIVE.... I'M SO GLAD I STOPPED & replaced my wimpy rechargeable AA's for fresh alkaline AA's--PERFECTION!!

These grinders do a wonderful job of grinding coarse sea salt and peppercorns, while also providing lighting. I own 2 of a diff. model, which I also love, made by Cole Mason (England) expressly for Williams Sonoma, $59.99 each.

An added feature of the Orka grinder is the black plastic "bottom lid" which keeps table/counter top free of little spills. BUT try leaving the bottom on while grinding, which lets you easily monitor, in the case of salt, exactly how much you have just ground onto the black "bottom lid"--great for REDUCED SODIUM DIETS!!!

I'd go with Amazon! A set of these would make lovely, thoughtful, practical, and relatively inexpensive gifts--the cheapest electric grinders I've seen!

NOTE: The 4-for-3 promo works great when items are similarly priced.
So I got 2 of these, and 2 of: LamsonSharp 3" x 6" Chef's Slotted Turner, right-hand--my favorite all-round spatula!!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004WGUM
Amazon only sells the LamsonSharp "off-and-on," so it is best to wait until Amazon, not one of its sellers, has it for about $21.99....
