(More customer reviews)Pros: Grinds easily. Very good output for size. Easy to re-fill. Has a cap to keep counters clean from mill residue. Ceramic grinding mechanism is as strong as steel and will not rust.

Cons: 1 star less because some pieces are plastic, so may break if dropped. If it lasts a year of regular use, I will upgrade the rating.
Value: In my experience, it grinds better than any other mill at this price point. You could get a better mill with metal exterior, no plastic parts, and ceramic grinding mechanism, but it will cost 3x as much as this one.

Update: After a couple years, this is still good as new. If possible, I would upgrade to 5 stars. I have used it for pepper, mustard seeds, and cumin. Cloves require a bit of wrist action, but it still turns well even though cloves are rather oily. If you want to use a grinder with several spices, then I would similarly recommend a very similar product in Ikea which is a bit less expensive andfor which they sell empty containers with lids that can be used with the grinder top.

WMF Deluxe Empty Ceramill Review

(More customer reviews)I have been looking for a great pepper/salt mill for a while.I have purchased the battery operated versions by WMF and other manufacturers and have found them great but wanted something that didn't require me to keep changing the battery and had a larger capacity.I frequently use various different salts and peppers in my cooking and some of them require grinding so need a number of mills to handle this.That being said let me get down to the review.

Looks:
The product looks amazing.The build quality is top notch with heavy duty glass and metal construction.It does not feel cheap at all and contributes to the value greatly.

Usability:
The mill sits grinder up meaning that the as you can see in the picture the glass portion rests on the counter.A simple unscrew operation lets you add more content into the storage container which is very easy.Te top has a cap that needs to be removed which has a rubber seal again very easy to operate.I have used these mills with rock salts and various peppers (black, and blends).I have noticed that the control mechanism for the grinder setting (determining how fine the grind coming out is) is a bit tricky to use mid grind.Meaning I grind some of the salt/pepper and then change the coarseness of the grind, it can be tricky especially if there are particles still in the grind mechanism.I would be watchful.As a note this only was a problem with some of the harder salts that I have.

Overall:
I wish I could give the product 4.5 stars as that is the true score but I cant give it 5 knowing that the issue with the grinding control exists with the harder salts and the usage pattern of changing the coarseness of the grind mid grind is a common one.

Summary:
I would purchase this again in a heartbeat and plan to buy more as my needs expand.At the moment I have 2 and 1 battery operated WMF grinder and plan to stick with this moving forward.
