(More customer reviews)This is a very nice, solid item. It's better looking than the bamboo or stainless ones that I've shopped around for in stores. The only caveat is that the color, at least for mine, is off compared to the picture. I ordered based off seeing the picture which shows brown. But what I received was more of a grey with light brown marking/overtones. I liked it enough to keep it - even though I ordered hoping that it would match my kitchen.

RSVP White Marble Swivel Top Salt Box Review

(More customer reviews)I received this swivel top salt box as a birthday gift. Right away, you know this is going to be something special. The weight of the marble is very nice, and makes it have a very "rich" feel to it. This is LARGE too, larger than you might guess from the photo. At 5" diameter and a bit over 2" tall this thing is more than a handful. This won't work very well if you plan on placing it on the back of your stove, where the edge isn't very wide, but I don't think your supposed to use it there anyway.Mine sits on my dining room table and we use it as we would a salt mill or shaker.

The swivel on the top is very sturdy and I am sure will last for years. The lid slides cleanly with no problems.On the bottom are four felt pads so your furniture does not get scratched.

The two compartments are LARGE and I won't have to refill this thing very often. For mine I have coarse kosher in one side and fine sea salt in the other. Who could ask for more? This is heaven for me.

There isn't a tiny little spoon to come with it, if you want one you will need to supply your own. But if you had one just keep in mind you would have to store the spoon elsewhere because it won't probably fit inside with the lid closed.

Totally Bamboo Double Salt Box Review

(More customer reviews)I was pretty happy with this product when it came. I received it quickly and looked better on my counter than the tiny tupperware boxes I was using. My only complaint so far is the little knob on top of the box (used to conceal the bolt) popped right off, seems to be an inferior gluing job. This just makes me suspicious of the overall quality. Will update if anything else falls apart.

(More customer reviews)My original review is below.I'm changing it now because as days/months go by, the product is definitely not sturdy.The lid swivels (that's a nice feature), but the weight wasn't intelligently distributed.Therefore, the lid ended up getting dislocated from the main compartment. If I didn't want this to happen, I would have had to open the lid ever-so-slightly. I'm so disappointed and if I had known how poorly made this was, I wouldn't have bought it.Now I just pop off the entire lid completely if I need to use the salt.I don't even cook often so I cannot blame it on wear-and-tear. Oh well.

A beautiful product that serves its purpose.I don't cook too often, but I DO like to cook whenever there are ingredients in the fridge, so the medium size is just right.The larger size would be better off for cooks who whip up something everyday.I could have probably even gotten the small size.It looks nice on any counter-top.

The only thing that I would complain about is the swivel/hinge mechanism: it often comes loose where I have to press down on it several times to make it 'lock' in place.I wish this hinge was tighter bc I feel as if the whole lid could come right off.I don't even know how to tighten it.

(More customer reviews)I bought two of these salt pigs for my wife who is a professional chef.It's clear that the designer is a frequent user since they got so many things right.The wide always-open mouth allows easy access for the whole hand, even when the contents are low.And it holds a ridiculous amount of salt or pepper.Most other salt cellars we've tried have serious drawbacks: mouth too narrow, too small capacity, lids that must be opened before accessing the seasoning.These salt pigs are bit pricy, but worth it for the functionality.
