(More customer reviews)I had heard good things about this brand so I bought these. They looked nice in the photo but they actually are much more beautiful. The lid screw controls the coarseness of the grind so it is continuous, which I like. They work very well.

Compact, comfortable and attractive, the clear acrylic body of the Vendome is complemented by its beech wood top with a chocolate varnished finish. The grind is adjusted by turning the top nut: turn it clockwise (tighten) for a finer grind; counter-clockwise (loosen) for a coarser grind. The pepper mill is equipped with Peugeot's legendary pepper grinding mechanism. Made of case-hardened steel, it has received additional treatment against wear and corrosion.Its double-row of helix-shaped claws grab and crack each peppercorn, before drawing it down to the teeth for the perfect grind. The salt mill is equipped with Peugeot's exceptional salt grinding mechanism: it is unlike anything else on the market. Its two ribbed plates are made from a stainless steel blend that offers resiliency, rigidity and resistance to corrosion from dry salts. When the mechanism is activated, the ribs work to twist and fracture each salt crystal to the desired size. Set includes 5-1/2-inch salt mill, and 5-1/2-inch pepper mill both with a chocolate varnished finish.
